Law Enforcement/SWAT *Military *Emergency Services/Tactical Medics
SPS brings tactical conditioning to those who strive to improve body and mind through a
comprehensive and intensive functional conditioning program. Bill currently works as a staff trainer for the
Commonwealth's juvenile justice system. As a former United States Marine Military Police officer, Bill knows what it
takes to succeed, how to push the body and mind to the limit and get the maximum results from the tactical athletes he
trains. He mixes his unique experience as a Marine and law enforcement officer with the latest scientific and evidence-based
training methods and sport psychology research to develop a tactical operator who is prepared for any situation. Operators
learn the concept of how to "improvise, adapt, and overcome" to reach their full potential and optimize
their performance on and off the field. Operators are taught the importance of mental toughness, physical readiness and the
desire to succeed under the most difficult of circumstances. It is truly an experience no athlete will forget.
Law
Enforcement/SWAT
The physical demands placed on
today's law enforcement and SWAT operators are intense. Whether making a dynamic entry to rescue a hostage, scaling walls
in pursuit of a suspect, physically engaging a combative and aggressive suspect, you have to know that you have what it takes
to safely manage every situation you encounter. Under these extreme environments and conditions, you have to know that your
body and mind will excel when needed. SPS's tactical conditioning program gives you the confidence and edge that you need
to survive the most trying of engagements. The National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) describe the tactical athlete and their needs as follows:
Who is the Tactical Athlete?
The tactical athlete is any SWAT officer who engages in high risk operations. These operators
require high levels of strength, speed, power, and agility. They not only need to be aerobically fit but also anaerobically
fit to handle the rigors of these high risk situations.
Strength
Strength is required to perform operational tasks. Tracking requires local muscle endurance to
avoid fatigue. Strength is the foundation for all the components of the tactical athlete. Strength can be developed through
various types of periodized resistance training programs. Methods used should mimic the tasks or goals of the tactical
athlete.
Speed
Nearly every operator requires fast movements of either the arms or legs. In most case the
operator will be required to accelerate and decelerate during an operation.
Power
Operators will most likely engage in some physical conflict whether it is breaching on entry or
hand-to-hand combat. Success will be determined by how much power an operator has and how efficiently it is utilized.
Agility
In most operational situations, the ability to change direction and accelerate/decelerate is
more important than achieving or maintaining a high velocity. This agility requires rapid force development and high power
output, as well as the ability to efficiently couple eccentric and concentric actions in ballistic movements.
Military
Bill's experience in the United States Marine Corps as a military police officer reinforced to him the need
to be in optimal condition to operate in stressful environments. You need to be in superior mental and physical shape at all
times sin e you never know when your skills will be put to the test. Whether you are enlisting in the armed forces, currently
in the armed forces or a veteran, if you want to get in and or stay in superior condition, this is the program for you. Our members of the armed forces are the ultimate warrior athletes. Whether it be humping through
the deserts of the middle east or the mountains and caves of Afghanistan, boarding ships or oil platforms, guarding our
embassies, protecting dignitaries, or patrolling the streets of Iraq and other hot spots throughout the world, you need to
make sure your physically prepared for the mission.
If you recently enlisted in the military and trying to prepare for the rigors of boot camp, SPS
has the experience, background and knowledge to make you a leader of the pack form the beginning of your training. This is
especially true for those enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. The Marine Corps has just implemented new and tougher
standards, the Combat Fitness Test that challenges the very core of an individual's physical readiness and mental
toughness. SPS will prepare you to destroy the test as well as the standard physical fitness test.
Emergency Services/Tactical Medics
The
physical demands of placed on emergency services personnel and tactical medics can be overwhelming. Whether it is climbing
stairs with a hose pack, rappelling down a building to rescue an individual, scaling a ladder to rescue a fire victim, or
engaging in a tactical operation with a SWAT team, you must know that you can physically and mentally get the job done. A
tremendous strain is placed on the body which if unprepared will lead to injury and potentially life threatening situations
should your body fail in an emergency. SPS has the answer and will design a comprehensive functional conditioning program that prepares
you to safely encounter and manage any situation you face. We will make sure that the public you are entrusted to protect
know that they have a warrior trained for any event.
