Strength Training Program Design
On-site Consulting

One or more members of our performance team will travel to your facilities as often as you need to put our professional consulting into place. We’ll work side by side with your staff and players to conduct assessments, design and implement Optimum Performance Training™ (OPT™) programs and conduct specialized services such as integrated manual therapy.

Assessments

Individualized and comprehensive assessments of each player are the core of our Optimum Performance Training™ (OPT™) method. We’ll evaluate strengths and weaknesses in each player’s posture, balance, core strength, flexibility, strength, speed and power while identifying biomechanical dysfunctions that may lead to injury or prevent optimum performance.

Pre- and post-season assessments include, range of motion and strength tests in addition to comprehensive assessment results and analysis. In addition, each player will receive a customized corrective exercise program to correct muscle imbalance, improve performance and prevent injury.

Program Design

Members of our SPS performance team will work with your training staff to develop Optimum Performance Training™ (OPT™) programs for each player that complement your current techniques and regimens. We can create in-season, off-season and annual plans to keep your players at peak performance throughout the year.

NASM's Optimum Performance Training™ (OPT™) is a systematic and integrated (total body) training, reconditioning and rehabilitation program that can be used with any client to reach any goal. By incorporating six components of training—flexibility, cardiorespiratory, core, balance, power and strength—into every program, the revolutionary and easy-to-use OPT™ method improves all biomotor abilities and builds high levels of functional strength, neuromuscular efficiency and dynamic flexibility.

NASM's proprietary method has been successful in training, reconditioning and rehabilitating elite, college, high school and recreational athletes alike. In addition to its effectiveness with athletes, OPT™ has also proven successful with the general health club population by decreasing body fat, increasing lean muscle mass and improving overall health.

NASM's exclusive Optimum Performance Training™ (OPT™) method enhances athletic performance while decreasing risk of injury and correcting muscular imbalances. Based on your individualized assessment, we’ll design a comprehensive program including the OPT™ training components—flexibility, cardiorespiratory, core, balance, power, speed & agility, and strength—that will make your programs fun, dynamic and, most importantly, successful.

OPT™ programs can:

  • Reduce body fat
  • Increase muscle mass
  • Enhance flexibility
  • Increase cardiorespiratory capacity
  • Improve core strength
  • Enhance balance
  • Boost power
  • Improve quickness
  • Increase agility
  • Boost strength
  • Speed injury recovery
  • And more!

The following Pyramid of Success represents the various stages of the OPT™ method.

Corrective Exercise Training (CET)

Corrects muscle imbalances, reconditions injuries, prepares body for training, prevents training overload, enhances adaptation, improves the body’s work capacity and improves stabilization strength.

Integrated Stabilization Training (IST)

Improves neuromuscular efficiency, functional strength, core strength, dynamic stabilization and functional flexibility.

Stabilization Equivalent Training (SET)

Enhances stabilization strength and endurance during functional movement patterns while increasing muscle mass, enhancing metabolism and improving stabilization strength.

Muscular Development Training (MDT)

Increases muscle mass for athletes such as football players and bodybuilders.

Maximal Strength Training (MST)

Improves motor-unit recruitment, frequency of motor-unit recruitment, motor-unit synchronization and peak force.

Elastic Equivalent Training (EET)

Enhances neuromuscular efficiency and power production, especially for athletes who need to express force quickly.

Maximal Power Training (MPT)

Increases speed strength and creates neuromuscular adaptations through an entire range of motion.
